Mother Monster Lady Gaga Album Joanne: Best Album In 5 Years According To Rolling Stone

Joanne, the Mother Monster Lady Gaga’s latest album, is nothing but different yet classic. This toned down version of, well, the Lady Gaga is for those classic-rock lovers.

Joanne was originally named after Lady Gaga’s aunt, who unfortunately died even before the Mother Monster could get a chance to meet her.

The album Joanne, released on Friday, features Stevie Nicks homage of the opening cut Diamond Heart. This is followed by songs that follow the great English singer-songwriter and composer Elton John, American singer-songwriter and humanitarian Bruce Springsteen, and the Rolling Stones.

The iconic Lady Gaga even tweeted her new album.

Gone are the days, for now, of elaborate costumes and thumping beats for the Mother Monster. This time maybe Lady Gaga is going back to her roots. This began during the release of her 2013 album Artpop. She began dialing back down her meat costume antics and Judas-like controversial songs.

Meanwhile, LA Time reported the, in a way, Joanne is the Mother Monster’s most theatrical effort yet, with an expansive cast of players including Mark Ronson, Beck, Father John Misty, and dudes from detail-obsessed rock bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Tame Impala.

With this expansive team up, this legendary group of people and the Mother Monster gave birth to a dazzling ensemble of music with character, much to Gaga’s taste. Come to Mama, Hey Girl, and Perfect Illusion are among these pieces. Perfect Illusion can be viewed on YouTube via the Mother Monster’s Vevo channel.

Of course, ratings wouldn’t be far off after the release of the album. Metacritic gave Lady Gaga’s Joanne a metascore of 65 citing generally favorable reviews, while Rolling Stone gave out a 70 commenting, “Joanne is Lady Gaga's best album in five years, since the disco-stick hair-metal manifesto that was Born This Way.”

Don’t let the T-shirt and Daisy Duke denim shorts fool you because in fact, the Gaga is still being the Lady Gaga, dressing up. So what do you think of the Mother Monster’s latest addition to her never-ending iconic music and style? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
