"Real Housewives Of Atlanta" Star Phaedra Parks Wants a Baby Girl

Phaedra Parks, who is expecting her second child with husband Apollo Nida, wants to have a daughter. The couple is already parents to 2-year-old son Ayden.

The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star announced her second pregnancy to People magazine in December 2012. During a chat with the Huffington Post recently, Parks revealed her wish to have a girl the second time to fulfill her son's wish to have a baby sister.

"At first I was anti-little girls, and my husband was like 'I'd like a daughter,'" she told Huffington Post. "But now I'm like, a girl might be fun."

Parks married Nida, a personal trainer, in 2009 and gave birth to her son the following year. The confusion regarding whether the star became pregnant before tying the knot was the prime theme in the Season 3 of "Real Housewives of Atlanta."

"In my family, you can't have [a baby] unless you married," she said during a Season 3 episode, according to Huffington Post. "That's momma's rules."

During an interview with the Examiner, Parks, who is an entertainment lawyer, revealed her struggle with balancing career and family.

"It's very difficult, but I have a great support staff, great parents, great friends, great husband, and everyone pitches in," she said. "It's a lot of prioritizing and we try to do everything in the best interest of our son and our family."

The expecting couple is now planning to release a second edition of their workout DVD "Phine Body" to help pregnant women lose their baby weight easily.
