'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Premiere: Actor Steven Yeun Looked Forward To The Death Of His Character Glenn?

Korean American actor, Steven Yeun in a candid interview on the "Talking Dead" opened up about the fate of his beloved character Glenn of "The Walking Dead" after the premiere of the Season 7 of the series on Sunday. Steven Yeun who plays Glenn in the series "The Walking Dead" saw his end by becoming the second victim of Negan, thereby following the lead of the comic.

According to reports by Entertainment, actor Steven Yeun confessed that he, in a very weird way, was looking forward to the death of the character Glenn Rhee in "The Walking Dead." "Personally for me, I think the death in the comic Robert wrote it in a messed up but an incredible way making the story as impactful as it is. It is an iconic moment that I did not want anybody else to take," he said.

Talking about keeping the secret of Glenn's death for so long, Steven Yeun remarked that it was not easy for him. "It came with its own set of difficulties," he added. He explained that initially, it caused a sense of excitement that he knows something that other do not know. After some time, it no longer has the same effect and he felt like diving into a hole as he was not allowed to reveal anything. "It was fun to lie to people for a minute. But after a while you just can't lie anymore so I just stopped talking to people," Yeun described.

Further, Vulture cites that Yeun believes that there is a legacy that the character Glenn leaves behind in "The Walking Dead." "I think Glenn died in a very Glenn way. Still not thinking about himself. It is appropriate that he ends there," Yeun expounded.

The Season 7 of "The Walking Dead" premiered on Oct. 23. The episode gave a hard, brutal start to the season with the killing of one of the most favorite characters Glenn along with the death of Abraham. Both these characters were brutally bludgeoned to death by Negan leaving the viewers with a shocking, unexpected turn that churned their emotions.
