‘Supergirl’ Episode ‘Welcome To Earth’ Recap: DC Comics Superhero Miss Martian and Lynda Carter As POTUS Join The Series

"Supergirl" fans everywhere are in for a treat! This episode includes the first live-action appearance of DC Comics superhero Miss Martian. We also get to meet Lynda Carter, the Wonder Woman icon, as the President of the United States (POTUS). To introduce the two new characters, the television network The CW has released two new clips.

J'onn J'onzz, played by David Harewood, gets a surprise as he comes across M'gann M'orzz, a.k.a. Miss Martian, played by Sharon Leal. He has always assumed that he was the last of his kind. So, meeting M'gann is a big surprise for our Martian. He feels like he knows her somehow, but he can't recognize her. She, however, seems to know him as clear as daylight and rushes to leave as soon as she sees him. Maybe that's because of her human guise?

For comic book fans, Miss Martian was known as a member of the Teen Titans. Her superpowers were likely linked to Martian Manhunter's, having the power of flight, superhuman strength, telepathic and telekinetic abilities, and, obviously, shapeshifting abilities. In the animated series "Young Justice," she was introduced as Martian Manhunter's niece. But it's most likely the Arrowverse will tweak Miss Martian a little bit and add their own twist to her.

In a short clip from the episode, you can see that President Olivia Marsdin, played by Carter, visits the DEO to discuss about the Alien Amnesty Act. Supergirl or Kara, played by Melissa Benoist, goes on full-blown reporter mode, while J'onn J'onzz isn't so sure that the Amnesty Act is a good idea.

This episode, entitled "Welcome to Earth," shows that an alien versus human rights issue heats up in National City. As the discussion goes on, an attack is made on the President. Supergirl and the DEO are assigned to keep the President safe and find the party responsible for the attack. Alex, played by Chyler Leigh, joins forces with Detective Maggie Sawyer, played by Floriana Lima, to investigate the happenings. Supergirl then searches for Mon-El, played by Chris Wood, who escaped and might be the alien behind the attack.

"Supergirl" airs on The CW.
