New Leak Shows Massive Upgrades For Samsung Galaxy Note 5: Specs & Features Comparable to Desktop Computer [Rumors]

Samsung fans will surely get excited with the rumored specs and features of Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which, as speculations say, is comparable to a desktop computer. For sure, tech people and even those who are not a Samsung fan will find this interesting.

Specifications and Features

Sammobile received a confirmation from a reliable source that Galaxy Note 5 will be equipped with Exynos 7422 SoC, the company's first true single-chip solution. The unit also comes with 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM. Exynos 7422 SoC combines an octa-core 64-bit CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and Shannon 333 LTE modem in one package. This makes the next Samsung Galaxy Note so powerful, added that the memory capacity of 4GB is too much for a mobile phone.

In another report from Sammobile, Galaxy Note 5 with code name "Project Noble" will feature 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of  2560 x 1440 pixels. It will come in four colors: black, gold, silver and white, similar to Galaxy S6 edge Plus, only that Galaxy Note 5 will have a flat display while Galaxy S6 edge Plus will come with a dual-edge curved display.

Among the new features that leaked are claims that Note 5 will support wireless charging and reinforces previous rumors about having a glass back. The glass back will probably disappoint users who wish to add a microSD card to extend their storage or replace the battery, Yahoo Finance reports.

Galaxy Note 4 was equipped with 3GB of RAM that enables it to run exclusive features, like running two apps at the same time in split-screen mode. With the extra RAM that comes in Note 5, it is expected to perform better and support new software. Some full-size computers come with 4GB RAM; thus, Note 5 will likely be as sufficient  as a desktop computer.

Release Date

The flagship product from the South Korean smartphone giant is initially set to launch over the summer. Samsung wanted IFA to unveil its new high-end gadget in September. This was confirmed in a conference call with investors by Samsung's Executive Vice President, Injong Rhee. A separate report from Sammobile reinforced this, which is not a surprise given that previous Galaxy Note handsets were released in September.

However, there were rumors that Note 5 will be launched earlier than what was previously announced due to the low actual sales of the Galaxy S6 duo. Since Apple usually launch new iPhones during the fall, Samsung will avoid the competition. It will launch Note 5 before the new iPhones will be released, SamMobile has learned.
