‘Young & Restless’ Spoilers: When Is Adam Newman Returning? Will Justin Hartley Reprise His Role?

It looks like fans are going to wait for quite a while before Adam Newman returns to the canvas in "The Young and the Restless." Adam Newman would likely return in February, much to the disappointment of team Chadam. Will he return with an old face through Justin Hartley? Or will there be a recast?

"The Young and the Restless" spoilers revealed the Adam Newman (most recently played by Justin Hartley) is very much alive. Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will chance upon his body when she escaped from the mental health facility.

Adam Newman was presumed dead in an explosion at the time the Justin Hartley had to leave Y&R to focus on another opportunity with NBC's "This Is Us." Since then, fans of the daytime soap have been waiting for news about what is going to happen to his character, Adam Newman.

According to reports, Adam Newman will be coming back to "The Young and the Restless" in four months' time, during the February 2017 sweep. His return to Genoa City is expected to be one of the major storylines.

That would be quite a long wait for Y&R fans, and by that time, his wife Chelsea and his brother Nick would have been married. That would surely be a complicated one for the three of them, and would make his reunion with Chelsea a bit impossible.

But aside from when Adam Newman is coming back, the other big question is who is going to play the character. Fans have rooting for Michael Muhney who previously played as Adam Newman before Justin Hartley until he was fired. With Mal Young taking the reigns as executive producer, Michael Muhney's comeback would be easier.

But then there is also a big possibility that Justin Hartley will be reprising his role as Adam Newman. The actor previously told CBS Soaps In Depth that he is open to appear in "The Young and the Restless" every once in a while. That raises the hope that even for a recurring role, Justin Hartley is going to remain as the face of Adam Newman.
