Nintendo Switch Latest News & Update: Launch Date and Game Lineup Coming In January; Nintendo Is Getting Ready For New Console

Nintendo does not have any plans to add more info regarding the new Nintendo Switch until the unveiling on the January event.

Nintendo Switch's handheld console system specs, price, and game lineup will be announced by Nintendo during the event presentation. In early January, Nintendo is also planning to initiate a sampling of Nintendo Switch through live demos to be held in Australia, US, Japan, and Europe.

The trailer that was released last week confirmed a concrete overview of the Nintendo Switch's mechanics. Currently, Nintendo is still silent about the other capabilities of the Nintendo Switch except for detachable controllers and the console's square design.

It was mentioned that Nintendo's new console has promising tie-ins with other types of technology and a much more interesting lineup of software. The Nintendo Company which is based in Kyoto announced that an exact launch date and unit pricing will be released on Jan. 13, which is immediately followed by the demo event.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said that the particulars about the add-ons for the Nintendo Switch will also be available in the coming New Year. He also mentioned that he didn't expect the company's stock to take a dive when the three-minute video for the console was released.

The video showed the new console being used as a portable device that has different accessories and modular controllers. A lot of gamers who saw the trailer was surprised and tried to get as much information about the Nintendo Switch from various sites.

After the death of Nintendo's former president Satoru Iwata a year ago, bringing Nintendo back to the top is the number one concern of the current president Kimishima. The income abroad was reduced due to a stronger yen, and the quarterly results for the company's profits that came out this week show a weakening of Nintendo's video game sales.

The success of "Pokemon Go" didn't help much in terms of sales, and Nintendo's game profits have steadily declined since 2009 during which the Wii console was introduced into the market.
