‘Attack On Titan’ Season 2 Air Date, Theories, Update: 'Return To Shiganshina' Arc Not Included On Season 2; Is Season 3 Possible?

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 is said to be comprised of a combination of two story arcs namely the "Clash of the Titans" and "The Uprising." If the highly anticipated series will only tell the said story arcs, the latest manga story arc titled "Return to Shiganshina" will be left uncovered. Could this mean that "Attack on Titan" may see a possible third season?

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 will take on two story arcs according to some anime enthusiasts and readers. The first story arc titled "Clash of the Titans" covered Chapter 35 to Chapter 50 of the manga series, Parent Herald reported. "The Uprising" story arc, on the other hand, continued the story from Chapter 50 to Chapter 70.

It is important to note, however, that "Attack on Titan" manga series is now on its 86th chapter covered by a new story arc titled "Return to Shiganshina." If the second season of the well celebrated animated TV series will end with "The Uprising" story arc, it can be possible that the series creator may have already thought of continuing the story of "Attack on Titan" through a possible third season. "Attack on Titan" Season 3 may then tell the "Return to Shiganshina" story arc wherein the origins of Titans were revealed.

However, rumors claimed that Hajime Isayama has already prepared three story arcs for "Attack on Titan" Season 2. Though rumors have not been confirmed, it can be possible that the third story arc would be the "Return to Shiganshina." That said, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 may see Eren uncovering the history of Titans through Dr. Grisha Yeager's old journal, revealing where Titans came from.

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 is suggested to premiere on April 2017 though no official air date has been confirmed by series creator Isayama.
