Nintendo Switch Transforms Local Gaming Experience With Reportedly Touch Screen Feature; Further Details Will Be Announced in January

After the Nintendo Switch trailer gives a sneak of the upcoming game console, reports have circulated that Nintendo Switch will include a capacitive multi-touch screen. Bigger than Galaxy Note 7 yet smaller than iPad Mini, Nintendo Switch's screen has a 6.2" display size, 720p, and a 10-point multi-touch display according to Eurogamer.

Nintendo Switch combines household and portable gaming with a number of control methods shown in the trailer. It can be a mobile handheld game console that streams games into the TV. Its controllers can be switched to different configurations.

A player can use the JoyCon controllers with the main unit docked, clipping on the controller when connected to the TV, or attached to the Switch itself for portable gaming or go for handheld or traditional controller. The number of players can vary as well from solo, tandem, or split for multiplayer games.

The competitive gaming scene of E-sports is also a territory that is being considered to be involved with, if not conquered by, Nintendo Switch. But this doesn't necessarily mean that it is exclusively for hardcore gamers.

Nintendo's President Tatsumi Kimishima says that the company's core philosophy is to increase the number of gamers at all ages and there's no change to that. As regard specs, he added he would like for people to wait until January, that what we saw is the core.

Although there are other hearsays suggesting that Nintendo Switch will even feature innovations such as a visual projector, scroll-wheel shoulder buttons, and an infrared pointer, VR capabilities might be possible in the future.

Although Nintendo keeps mum in giving too much details, it announced that it will disclose the full details of Nintendo Switch's pricing and the targeted launch date on January 12, 2017, and will go on sale in March. A wider array of hardware specs and software reveal are to be watched out until then.
