Penelope Cruz Pregnant: Spanish Actress Expecting Second Child

Penélope Cruz is pregnant for a second time.

The 38-year-old actress is expecting a second child with husband Javier Bardem. Sources close to the couple confirmed the news to The New York Post.

The news comes shortly after Cruz's sister Monica confirmed expecting a baby via an anonymous sperm donor.

Cruz's relationship with actor Javier Barden started in 2007 and they tied the knot in 2010. The couple has a son named Leonardo (17 months).

The actress had earlier revealed the factors that attract her to motherhood.

"From the first second, you feel so much love," Fox News quoted the actress as telling to the Vogue magazine. "It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever."

In early 2012, similar reports emerged after a Spanish television show "Espejo Público" claimed the Spanish beauty three months pregnant with her husband' s child.

Cruz, who made her acting debut at the age of sixteen, is well known for her lead roles in the films "Vanilla Sky" and "Blow." She is the first Spanish actress to grab an Academy award and a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Apart from acting she has tried her hand in modelling and has modelled for the famous companies like L'Oreal, Ralph Lauren and Mango.
