Harry Potter Spin Off Movie 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:' Thousands of Teen Line Up To Be the 'Modesty'

The auditions for the "Harry Potter" spin off movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" on Sunday, July 19, UK time, saw long queues of thousands of girls wishing to snatch a role. The girls are pining to have the role of Modesty, a character described by Warner Bros as a "haunted young girl with an inner strength and stillness."

The open audition of the Harry Potter spin off movie happened at the ExCel centre in London, Bucks Free Press reported. Young girls between eight to 12 years old came with their supporting parents, as they lined up and hoped that at the end of the day they could be "the one."

The girls are beyond excited. Reuters reported that young girls from all over Britain are waiting in the line as early as 3am, UK time, even though the auditions were to start at 9 am. Earlier, JK Rowling already expressed her excitement to finally put a face to the character. "I'm so looking forward to meeting our Modesty!" she tweeted.

Warner Bros announced early June that its target worldwide release of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is on November 18, 2016. It is set to be released in 3D and IMAX.

Whoever gets lucky to be awarded the role as Modesty will join Katherine Waterston and Eddie Redmayne as one of the casts in the "Fantastic Beasts." Waterston will play the character of Porpentina or Tina, a witch who works her magic in the U.S. Redmayne on the other hand will play the role of Newt Scamander.

Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production for Warner Bros, described Waterston as a “rising star.” Waterston, he said, was a “revelation” in the film “Inherent Vice.” Redmayne on the other hand was described by Silverman as one of “today’s most extraordinarily talented and acclaimed actors.”

Far into the future, this girl could be the next Emma Watson. But for the meantime, they have to worry about throwing a line for the open audition.

Speaking with Reuters, 11-year-old Holly said she is very much prepared for the audition. She said that she had an innate love for the magical world of Harry Potter. Her passion for acting had motivated her to wait in line for the audition as well.

Josephine, also 12 years old, told Reuters that she had been practicing Modesty's lines with her 9-year-old sister, Elisa. She said that as part of their internalization, they thought of how haunted Modesty is. While Josephine had the time to rehearse before the audition, another aspiring young girl, Taylor shared that she is not prepared because her mom just told her about the open try-out and she just decided to try.

Kaitlyn, who traveled from Manchester, was one among the early birds who were first to throw a line. After her audition, she got a certificate which sealed her partaking in the event. She was open to share her experience inside the ExCel centre."We got our picture taken, we went in, told them information about us, and then we ... got into a circle and we jumped in the middle doing an action and a sound," Kaitlyn told Reuters.
