'Twilight' Remake Update: Reboot Without Kristen Stewart

The news about a "Twilight" remake has resurrected the series fandom. But fans who are rooting for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's return as Bella and Edward, respectively, might find themselves in for a surprise as a reboot without Kristen Stewart seems to be more likely of happening.

As fans can recall, the book-based fantasy romance films brought together Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as a couple on-screen as well as off-screen. The beloved "Twilight" series along with the couple reached phenomenal success worldwide. But, unlike Bella and Edward getting their happily ever after, the real-life couple had to call it quits three years ago in 2013.

Three years later, hopes for the return of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella and Edward in the big screen resurfaced after the possibility of a "Twilight" remake was revealed by Lionsgate chairman Patrick Wachsberger, according to Movie News Guide. Wachsberger shared that the entertainment company is open to a "Twilight" remake or sequel if author Stephanie Meyers is up for it.

However, fans might not see Kristen Stewart in the "Twilight" remake or sequel. The 26-year old actress shared that despite the huge success of the "Twilight" series, she's looking for roles that are more mature and different from Bella, according to Aussie Network.

So if the "Twilight" remake pushes through, who might play Bella in the new film? Rumor has it that Robert's latest real-life girlfriend, FKA Twigs, might be the new Bella Swan in the "Twilight" remake. But since nothing is for sure yet, fans could still hope for a "Twilight" remake with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson still as Bella and Edward.

Nevertheless, fans don't need to wait for a "Twilight" remake to see Kristen Stewart, though without Robert Pattinson, in the big screen again. Her upcoming film, "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk", is set to be released on 11 November 2016. Kristen Stewart is playing Kathryn Lynn, the sister of the titular character Bill Lynn.

With a storyline that deviates from the plot of a "Twilight' remake, this movie follows Billy and his fellow soldiers who return as heroes from Iraq and what really happened to them contrasting to the people's reality of war. Directed by Ang Lee, this movie will definitely showcase a different Kristen Stewart. Make sure to check out Kristen Stewart in the movie trailer below.
