'Stranger Things' Season 2 Spoilers: Netflix Show Gives Update On Barb; Will She Finally Get Justice?

Fans were in despair when Barbara Holland was killed off in the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things." What's even more painful for the fans was the show seemingly not making an effort in giving the character's death much importance.

But based on a new promotional teaser released by the renowned U.S.-based streaming service, it seems that the creators are putting an effort to make up for its mistake on how it treated Barb since the show premiered. It also appears that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will finally tackle her mysterious disappearance and death, according to The Verge.

In the said teaser, a news reporter named Brenda Wood reports about Barb's last location before she went missing. It can be recalled that Barb was last seen with some fellow teenagers at Steve Harrington's house before being dragged by the Demogorgon into the Upside-Down. The reporter went on to state that they tried to get a comment from her best friend Nancy but to no avail.

Wood also made mention of how Barb was described by her friends and peers as being "loyal to a fault to Nancy," and that she could notice if a girl is "wearing a new bra" and can "really rock a pair of mom jeans." The reporter also commented about Barb's "absolutely fantastic glasses" and ended the newscast by encouraging viewers to call the police about Barb's whereabouts.

"Stranger Thing's" tendency to neglect its female characters as it focuses on its group of boys has been a cause of concern from critics and fans alike. Her death was even slammed as "merely collateral damage," with not many townsfolk making a big deal about how sinister her death turned out to be and none of them bothered to investigate, according to Vox.

With "Stranger Things" Season 2 set to premiere in a couple of months, the Duffer brothers still have a lot of time on their hands to give what the fans want.
