Danny Gokey Shares his Son's First Photos

New dad Danny Gokey has unveiled his newborn to the world.

"The American Idol" season eight finalist and wife Leyicet Peralta welcomed their first child Daniel Emanuel Gokey, Jan. 20. The new addition to the family weighed 8 pounds and 11 ounces at birth.

The proud father introduced his son to his fans and well-wishers by posting an adorable photo of the little one on Facebook.

"I love my little man!! He's just too adorable and cute!" he wrote, after posting the photo.

Friends and well-wishers of the singer competed to express their excitement. Nearly 13,000 'Liked' the photo and more than 500 came forward to express their support to the new dad.

"Beautiful baby---I know every time you look at him your heart smiles  So happy for you and your little family..." one of the comments read, while another one found the little one as "PRECIOUS!"

During a chat with People magazine, recently, the new parents opened up about the changes their new status as parents brought in their life.

"It's been fun adjusting to having a new baby in the house," Gokey told People magazine. "We're a little sleep-deprived right now, but we really love him a lot! He's pretty cute - it's okay to brag, right?" 

Gokey lost his first wife of 12 years, Sophia Martinez, after she experienced complications while undergoing a surgery conducted to treat her congenital heart disease in 2008. In 2009, Gokey met Peralta, and they tied the knot in 2012. The couple announced pregnancy in July 2012.

"Hey guys I'm happy to announce that my wife Leyicet Gokey and I are having a baby!! She a little over 3 months pregnant & due in January!!! We're so excited!!" Gokey wrote, while announcing the news on Facebook.
