'Overwatch' Sombra Update: New Character Design Unvieled As World Cup Continues

A new leak in "Overwatch" gives away our best look at Sombra yet. A high-quality image was uploaded on Blizzard's website containing a character design artwork by John Polidora, a senior concept artist, illustrator, and character designer at Blizzard Entertainment.

According to Forbe's Paul Tassi, the leak cannot be expected to be confirmed by Blizzard, but the image is highly similar to the leaked character art from a Russian "Overwatch" website just weeks ago. The previous leak shows a Latina woman with a unique hairstyle and a purple trench coat holding what appears to be a sub-machine gun. It was believed to have only been a fan art with its low-quality and origin.

Sombra was speculated to be revealed during the Halloween event, but the rumors did not come to being. This leak however, appears to be authentic given that the illustration comes from a real Blizzard artist, and was posted on the official Blizzard website.

Fans of "Overwatch" are expecting even more clues with regards to the reveal of Sombra for the upcoming weeks with the start of the latest stage of the game after the expiration of a long countdown timer. Rumors also suggest that Sombra's big reveal will take place at BlizzCon. However, the idea does not please fans who have been trying to crack the game's clues for months.

The image may confirm what Sombra looks like, but information with regards to her kit, her gameplay, or even her role is unknown. All that the leaks reveal is that Sombra is a hacker who could possibly be wielding a sub-machine gun.

"Overwatch" fans are growing tired of waiting for the official reveal of Sombra. For now, all that we can do is enjoy the illustrations, wait for more clues, and hopefully hear from Blizzard officially. Are you excited for the release of Sombra?
