Potterheads have long since anticipated the showing of J.K. Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts" starring Eddie Redmayne, but it looks like another actor will be joining the movie. Johnny Depp is confirmed to join the next installment of "Fantastic Beasts."

The first movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" opens on November 18 with the premise of Newt Scamander going to 20s era America armed with his magical briefcase. According to New York Daily News, Depp will also appear in the first movie, albeit briefly.

The "Fantastic Beasts" sequel will also be directed by David Yates and is expected to come out on November 16, 2018. However, the setting won't be in New York unlike the first movie but in another city. Depp's latest projects were "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
