Animal Crossing Update! Nintendo Game Adds Amiibo Support! Huge Update Adds More Features To The Game! Read For More Details!

Nintendo's free update of Animal Crossing: New Leaf was just made available. You can download the update from the eShop. However be aware that the update is huge and you might need to clear up some space on your SD cards.

Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Leaf was released in 2012 for 3DS. It was originally a spinoff of Happy Home Designer for 3DS and Amiibo Festival for Wii U. Check out the list below for the details of the Animal Crossing: New Leaf update!

  1. There are now town initiatives, daily quests and a new currency system called MEOW (Mutual Exchange of Wealth) coupons.
  2. You get items from a hippie dog named Harvey in exchange for your MEOW coupons.
  3. Amiibo figurines and cards bring new villagers to your town. The genie Wisp is the key character that will allow you to scan your amiibo cards and figurines to your town campground.
  4. The invited characters arrive in RVs.
  5. You can get furniture from the RVs in exchange for MEOW coupons. Further placed RVs are reserved for special characters and the near placed RVs is solely used to summoned amiibo.
  6. You can recruit a character and/or convince then to stay in your town.
  7. Scanning amiibo cards are the easiest way to recruit a character. Scanning amiibo figurines will give you additional game features like unlocking Desert Island Escape and Animal Crossing Puzzle League.
  8. You can collect special items and characters from scanning non-amiibo figurines like those from Splatoon and Legend of Zelda.
  9. An AR camera lets2 you take pictures with amiibo characters.
  10. You get more space from the Secret Storeroom to organize your furniture.
  11. Animal Crossing: New Leaf will detect save data from Happy Home Designer that'll allow you to avail of more items from Nooklings' store.
  12. You can sell your town to Tom Nook and get bells in your account to help you start a new town.

Nintendo will be releasing 50 new amiibo cards on December 2. A special area called Harvey's campground lets you meet with new in-game characters.

So dust off your 3DS or 3DS XL and get your Animal Crossing game updated! It will surely bring you unless hours of fun while waiting for Nintendo's Switch!
