'The Girl In The Spider’s Web' Director Choice: Will Fede Alvarez Accept?

David Fincher's 2011 "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" sequel on "The Girl In The Spider's Web" is derived from a very popular book. It is also a star-studded series but Sony Pictures is not really happy with it.

It needs the unique touch of a distinct director who can bring out the best in it given the already quality elements put together for the show. Fede Alvarez who stunned everyone in the industry for the unexpected success of "Don't Breathe" is pinned to try it out, according to AV Club.

Fede Alvarez at least agreed to do "The Girl In The Spider's Web" which is an adaptation of David Lagercrantz's novel in 2015. Producers gained its right for reboot and to do a sequel.  

Rooney Mara's return to the TV series is speculated despite no clear confirmation since "The Girl In The Spider's Web" is a sequel which he is a part of.

Steven Knight did wonders with the script, along with Scott Rudin, Amy Pascal, Eli Bush and Elizabeth Cantillon as assisting script writers of "The Girl In The Spider's Web." Yellow Bird's Ole Søndberg and another producer Søren Stærmose are also on board to co-produce with the management of David Beaubaire.

David Lagercrantz takes the place of Stieg Larsson after his demise in 2004. In the novel. The story revolves around the exciting connivance between Salander with journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the "The Girl In The Spider's Web."

They found themselves in a world of underworld spies who would do everything to get what they need, ruthless cyber criminals, and abusive government operatives. Killing just to protect their interests is common in the "The Girl In The Spider's Web" plot.

Sony Pictures has all the reasons to be excited now to speed up "The Girl In The Spider's Web" production to beat ts deadline for release sometime next year. Alvarez's participation is vital in the management's decision to prioritize the project this time, says Variety.
