Pregnancy Helping Busy Philipps' Role as Laurie on 'Cougar Town'

Pregnancy is helping actress Busy Philipps in being relatable to her on-screen character.

The 33-year-old "Cougar Town" actress, who is expecting her second child with husband Marc Silverstein, explained how the physical changes that pregnancy brought about helped in her role as Laurie.

"The good news about Laurie is that she loves highlighting her boobs, and when you're pregnant, your boobs get real big," the mom-to-be told People magazine. "My boobs grow three sizes in the season. My body takes to pregnancy like nobody's business."

Philipps, well-known for her supporting roles on the television series "Freaks and Geeks", tied the knot with screenwriter Mark Silverstein in 2007. The couple has a 4-year-old daughter Birdie.

Little girl Birdie, however, understands her mom's pregnancy-related problems, and wants to support her.

"She looked at me the other day and said, 'Mama, I think that baby in your tummy is making you crazy.' Which is hilarious and also so sadly true," the actress told the magazine, adding that Birdie wants to be a part of her pregnancy and even accompanies her for an ultrasound session.

Not only that, Birdie has already adjusted to the idea of a new addition to the family and is waiting impatiently for its arrival.

"I explained to her that it's okay to feel two ways about it, that she can be really excited and also nervous or scared. She confided she was nervous that maybe the baby was going to like her more than the baby likes me," Philipps explained to People magazine.

Philipps made an entry into the film world with the 2000 movie, "The Smokers". Apart from that, she has appeared in many movies including "White Chicks", "Made of Honor" and "He's Just Not That Into You".
