‘Wonder Woman’ Latest Updates: Gal Gadot, Patty Jenkins Save DC Comics Movie Universe, Trailer and Release Date Revealed

The latest "Wonder Woman" official trailer is finally here, and DC Comics movie universe trailer has never looked so exhilarating and comedic at the same time. It seems like the Amazonian warrior princess "Wonder Woman" could be the superhero DC Comics movie universe badly needs right now.

As reported by Variety, after two of the most popular movies "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad" were released last year, critics have slammed them for being overly dark and joyless.

Gal Gadot returns as the iconic heroine "Wonder Woman" in this epic action adventure origin story from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, a trained unconquerable warrior princess of the Amazons. Brought to life by Zeus and was raised on the secret island of Themyscira, she finds Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) unconscious along their shores and tells of a massive conflict in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana sets out on a journey with Trevor and fights alongside men in a war to end all wars, where she discovers her full power and her true destiny as Wonder Woman.

The action flick directed by Patty Jenkins features some incredible action scenes and stunning camerawork. According to DigitalSpy, Jenkins' film will take inspiration from one of the most optimistic superhero films of all time, 1978's "Superman: The Movie."

During the Comic-con panel, Jenkins stated that the film "Wonder Woman" was overdue, "but it sure feels like the best time to do this."

Director Patty Jenkins, best known for her Oscar winner "Monster," and Gal Gadot's badass and independent "Wonder Woman" film could be DC Comics movie universe's last hope.

"Wonder Woman" arrives in cinemas worldwide on June 2, 2017. Watch the new trailer below! Share your thoughts and comments!
