Another celebrity couple has called it quits! This time the unhappy news came from "Cruel Intentions" actor, Ryan Phillippe and girlfriend Paulina Slagter. Not a few were shocked with the announcement since the couple who have been together for almost five years just got engaged last Dec 2015.

Ryan Phillippe started dating his former fiancé Paulina Slagter in 2011 and despite the 17-year difference, the two seem inseparable for five years. As reported in Celebuzz, what made this news even more surprising is the fact that Ryan Phillippe frequently gushed about his Stanford law school graduate girlfriend.

Earlier this year, a Daily Mail article reported how the actor is so in love with Paulina. Furthermore, people close to the couple said that Ryan is so proud of Paulina and that the lawyer is a positive influence to the actor.

Ryan Phillippe was married to actress Reese Witherspoon for eight years before divorcing in 2007. The two A-list celebrities who have two children, Ava and Deacon remain friends after the split. The 42-year old actor seems to favor long-term relationships because he also dated actress, Abbie Cornish for four years.
