‘Vikings’ Season 5 Air Date, Latest News Update: Travis Fimmel's Ragnar Lothbrok In For Major Deaths? New Cast, Locations In History Series?

"Vikings Season 5" star Travis Fimmel will be back as Ragnar Lothbrok but not before he sees a series of major deaths in S4 Part 2. As it is Ragnar Lothbrok and the gang are in for major changes including new cast and locations when "Vikings" returns for Season 5.

As Parent Herald cites, Travis Fimmel, Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn Ironside), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha) and Gustaf Skarsgard revealed to IGN that "Vikings Season 5" will be a lot more exciting than S4 Part 2. This is saying a lot since "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will take Ragnar Lothbrok, his sons, Lagertha and Floki into major battles as IGN reports.

Fans of the History series should beware as major battles will also mean major deaths of key "Vikings" characters. Among the widely speculated death in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 is that of the wife of Ragnar Lothbrok, Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).

Lagertha was seen in the "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 trailer threatening payback on the Viking queen for destroying her own marriage to Ragnar Lothbrok and forcing her out of Kattegat. Internal conflict will also be observed among Bjorn, Ivar The Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen), Sigurd (David Lindström), Hvitserk (Marco Islo) and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) as Alexander Ludwig revealed that jealousy will divide the brothers in the "Vikings" series.

Queen Aslaug's will not be the only death in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 as The Seer (John Kavanagh) promised that the return of Ragnar Lothbrok is the harbinger of blood and destruction. This does not sound good for King Ecbert (Linus Roache) who's due for payback from Ragnar Lothbrok.

"Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will not only be gloom and doom as the History series will also begin to widen the landscape for Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons. Along with the new locations will be the introduction of newcomers Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ferdia Walsh Peelo (Alfred) and Darren Cahill (Aethelred), who will figure even more prominently in "Vikings Season 5."
