Battle Of The Drones: Which Is Better, GoPro Karma Or DJI Mavic Pro? Find Out Here Which One Won!

Two of the most famous drones in the market are constantly compared. Between DJI Mavic Pro and GoPro Karma, which one won? It has mixed reviews but worth the time to determine which is better.

According to HNGN, GoPro Karma drone weighs at 2.22 pounds and has 14.4 by 8.8 by 3.5 inch when folded. The DJI Mavic Pro is considerably lighter weighing at 1.62 pounds and measures 7.9 by 3.3 by 3.3 inches.

GoPro Karma can attain an altitude of 14,500 feet and a maximum speed of 35mph. It can also go a maximum distance of 1.86miles away from the controller and can continuously fly for 20 minutes from the moment it took off.

The DJI Mavic Pro is better in terms of flight capabilities for it can attain an altitude of 16,404 feet which is 2,000 feet more compared to its toughest competition. The maximum speed of DJI Mavic Pro is 40mph also makes it more superior than the GoPro Karma. It can fly for 27 minutes continuously a 4.3miles maximum range from the controller.

GoPro Karma is designed well with a feature of detachable gimbal and camera. It can accommodate three different types of camera made by GoPro like the Hero 5 black, Hero 5 Session etc. GoPro Karma 4K, 12MP cameras has electronic image stabilization along wide angle lens for improved capturing capabilities.

DJI Mavic Pro has fewer features compared to GoPro Karma. The detachable gimbal and camera are not present as it is one unit with the drone. DJI Mavic Pro lacks electronic image stabilization and 28mm lens which is considerably less compared to GoPro.

As added by Peta Pixel, even with GoPro Karma leading in the camera segment, there are reports stating that it is terrible. A Youtuber who tested the drone said that it had issues with drift, noise, horizon tilt, and battery life.

Some of the complaints are subjective. Not all devices are created equal. It will be dependent on how a user evaluates it. In spite of the negative complaints presented above, GoPro Karma has emerged as the winner in this face-off challenge.
