The Truth About Teenage Human- Trafficking

Human trafficking occurs in many parts of the world. Whether first or third world country, it's undeniably rampant. It is defined by UNODC as a habitual purchasing of people, subject to abuse such as sex slavery, by illegal means. Human Trafficking ED argue that an estimated number of 17,500 victims enter in the US every year. Others argue that they imported victims with an estimated number of 60,000 were imported to the US yearly exclusive of the people who migrated to the US, fugitives, alienated people, and indigenous people.  Based on Soroptimist's report, there are 800,000 victims annually worldwide while it's still in business, then it's still growing. Most of them came from developing countries. This kind of activity chooses no one for even teens, who came from a wealthy family, also becomes a target.

Many of its victims are mostly young women, age ranging from 9 to 19 years old, are being sold for various sex exploitations according to ABC News. Not only that, from the UNODC report, between 2010-2012, most of the victims came from 124 countries. In addition to that, some of them were not only sold but also auctioned. Before they sold the victims, they exercise some sexual activities to some or addict them to drugs (heroin or methamphetamine) to stop them from escaping.

In the interview with ABC News with the FBI, they said that trafficking assailants would go to places where young people usually have fun then they will do everything to persuade them to go with them. They also mentioned that these people are excellent in knowing the kid's weaknesses too.

Whether we liked or not, one of our children can be a target of this illegal movement and the only way for our young ones not to become victims of it is to be more careful with people whom they befriend and for parents should be confident about their child's life. Bear in our minds that being watchful is the key to safety.
