Sega Mega Drive Release Date, Latest News And Update; Japanese Multinational Video Game Developer Confirms The 2017 Release

It's almost 3 decades since the Sega Mega Drive was first introduced in the world and has been the toughest competitor of Nintendo back in the 80's. The highly popular console is now rising back from the coffin and is ready to bring back the retro gaming for all the fans.

The Japan Today confirmed that the Sega Mega Drive Limited Edition will be released sometime in 2017. It will bring back the 16-bit era where most of the details and graphics were presented by sprites.

The Sega Mega Drive Limited Edition comes with 22 games in its package, including most of the highly notable games such as Shinobi 3 and the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It has been also reported that the upcoming Sega Mega Drive will be using the original specs and will not feature a certain hardware upgrade.

Tectoy, a manufacturer from Brazil will be producing the "Sega" Mega Drive. Though Sega will be releasing the retro video game console, they confirmed that it is not a step to enter the current console competition and is no longer interested at all.

As per the Digital Trends, the "Sega" Mega Drive was discontinued in 1997 as the company was preparing to release the Dreamcast in 1998. The Mega Drive has been very popular in the United States for almost a decade due to the graphics and games it released during its prime.

During the 90's, the "Sega" Mega Drive was competing against the Nintendo SNES as they both dominate the game console during that time. Back in the days, if Nintendo had Mario in front, Sonic the Hedgehog is the face of the "Sega" within its living years.

For just $138, fans would have another touch on the beloved retro "Sega" Mega Drive console. We now wonder, how does it feel to play a console using the old-school RCA jack during this generation.
