'I Am Cait' Premiere: Debut Episode Features First 'Meeting' With Kylie, Caitlyn Admits Being 'Suicidal'

The premiere of "I Am Cait," the documentary series that charts the transition of Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner, has already dropped a bombshell in its first offering.

According to JustJared, Caitlyn had thoughts of suicide as she struggled to come to terms with who she was becoming, and, sadly, it's a problem that "happens all the time," the reality star said.

"Suicide is a permanent solution for a very temporary problem. And most of the ones that are at risk are these young kids. Have their whole life ahead of them. It just doesn't need to happen," Caitlyn revealed in the video, after learning that a transgender teenager committed suicide. "I have been in my house, with a gun and said, 'Let's just end it right here. No more pain. No more suffering. That struggle, it's real, and I've been there."

Us Weekly reported that the first hour of the docu-series was a roller coaster ride of emotions, both tense and happy. But one of the biggest highlights of the opening was when Caitlyn's youngest daughter, Kylie, "met" her for the first time.

They got together on FaceTime and then later met in the flesh while Esther, Caitlyn's mother, was in town. Caitlyn warned Kylie that she didn't want to scare her, but Kylie could only tell her dad, "You're not scaring me. You look pretty!" the news outlet recapped.

As the series was filmed during the early stages of her coming out to her family, Caitlyn admitted to being constantly nervous and feared this change would break her family. "Even Kylie coming over today - you never know, when they get away from here and they go home they go 'Oh my god, that is strange,'" according to People. She also went through a lot of sleepless nights due to these fears and wondered if she was doing the right thing and projecting the right image in the camera.

The show also tackled what Caitlyn hopes to achieve with her story, as the former Olympian has a mission to help other families with transgender members. The suicide rate among transgenders, particularly in the younger generation, is alarmingly high, as stated by Us Weekly. It's Caitlyn's hope that she will be able to reach out to people so that they can seek help for their struggles.

Meanwhile, despite being a private person, Caitlyn's mom, Esther, agreed to be part of the documentary and said, "I feel like Caitlyn fits in better into society than Bruce ever did because Bruce had to lie," according to ABC News.
