4-Year Old Daughter Wore Her Late Mother’s Wedding Dress in a Touching Photoshoot: ‘It Was a Beautiful Moment’

During the fourth of November year of 2016, an article was posted in Yahoo Celebrity website about a little daughter named Nora Davis, with the age of 4, fulfilled and granted her mother's dying wish to have her wear her mother's cherished wedding dress and to have her photographed.

Before Nora's mom, named Amber Davis, who passed away because of a rare type of cervical cancer last year, she requested her daughter to be photographed at the same place where she married and made bonds with Nora's father, Derek Davis. And the previous week, Amber's final wish came true.

Wearing her mother's full wedding attire, a beautiful and elegant lace gown, sparkling diamond ear accessory and a band marriage, Nora personated and posed for a series of an emotionally rewarding and uplifting photos captured at The Hitching Post wedding venue in Statesville, North Carolina.

Amber's close friend and the My Three Arrows photographer, Heidi Spillane told the people that Nora is the spitting image of her mother and looked similarly just like Amber during the photo shoot. Heidi also said that the photo shoot was not downcasting but rather a beautiful and heartwarming moment where Amber was living on through her daughter.

Amber's sister, Adrianne Blackwelder, the one who is taking care of Nora and her two brothers Reid and Noah while Derek is at work, said that Nora, most of the time mentions her mom and how she misses her so much. By the time Adrianne accompanied Nora on the day of the photoshoot, she had said that seeing the little girl Nora wearing her perished mom's dress was something else.

Amber was determined to have the Neuroendocrine tumors(NETs) or neuroendocrine carcinoma cervical cancer in February of 2014. The mother of three went through radiation and chemotherapy, but unfortunately, the cancer spread to her brain by metastasis. Six months later after her brain surgery, she died at the young age of 27.

Blackwelder said that Amber was afraid and was absolute that she did her everything to ensure her family would be taken care of after shedied. Blackwelder also stated why Amber wanted those photos because her sister wanted Nora to know how much she loved her.

Before she perished, Amber told Heidi about her idea of Nora having the wedding dress photoshoot.

Spillane said that Amber saw it was a way for Nora to remember her Mama once she passes away, and said that Amber wanted her to promise that she would do it when her friend was gone. She also said that Nora's mom was so proud of how her daughter was so beautiful, brave and amazing when Amber was fighting cancer. Spillane added to say that Nora was beaming with pride in her mommy's dress that she loved every minute of it and when Nora looks at the picture, the little girl would look like her mom standing at the same spot touching the dress and that it was a special thing to witness and she could tell that Nora just felt so connected to her mom in that moment.

Nora got her hair and makeup fixed with a natural look in front of the camera by Amber's close friend named Erica Stevens.

An especially touching photograph, Derek picked Norah up and held her in the exact same position he held his wife on their special wedding day five years ago. Derek was so blessed to be able to be there in that moment with Nora.

After the photoshoot Nora told Spillane that she felt special having her picture taken in her mom's gown. Spillane expressed herself to Nora that it was what they were going for, to make her feel like a princess on the day Amber got married and wanted to make the little girl feel the joy.

Derek said his daughter showed incredible strength during the emotional photo shoot. He added to say that Nora has had endured many things someone her age hasn't and through it all his daughter has shown her mother's warrior spirit.
