'Stranger Things' Season 2 Cast Details Revealed: Three New Faces Join The Hit Series

The hit series "Stranger Things" will include three new faces in the second season. Fans can expect to see Sean Astin, Paul Reiser and Linnea Berthelsen take on their roles.

Fans would recognize most of the new faces in season 2 of "Stranger Things" especially those who have watched "Lord of the Rings" or "Mad About You." However, the other faces might be new to the fans.

One of the new cast members, Sean Astin, will play the role of RadioShack manager named Bob Newby. Astin is well known for his roles in Steven Spielberg's "The Goonies," the sports film "Rudy" and especially in the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" where he played as Sam, the best friend of the main character Frodo. In "Stranger Things," Astin will be the good-hearted former nerd who used to be schoolmates with Joyce Byers and Sheriff Hopper in high school, according to Variety.

Another recognizable face that will grace the second season of "Stranger Things" is Paul Reiser, famous for his role in "Mad About You." In the hit horror series, Reiser will play as Dr. Owens, an executive of the Department of Energy, who will contain the events that transpired in the first season. Given this, fans can expect a fight happening between Dr. Owens and Dr. Martin Brenner.

The newcomer Linnea Berthelsen will play the role of Roman in "Stranger Things." Roman is a character that has experienced terrible trauma and loss as a young child and she is related to the events at Hawkins lab in season 1, according to Entertainment Weekly. Berthelsen hasn't played any major roles in her career but maybe her role in "Stranger Things" would set her on a good start.

Season 2 of "Stranger Things" is set to release in 2017. Even though there are new faces who will join the cast, the fans can expect to see all the characters who survived the first season to return in season 2.
