‘Young Justice’ Season 3 Latest News & Updates: Hit DC Series Returns As Warner Bros. Begins Production; Will Reprise Cartoon Network Slot?

Since more than 3 and a half years after Cartoon Network canceled the hit DC animated series, "Young Justice" returns with its Season 3 packed with all-new episodes. Warner Bros. Animation has announced last Monday afternoon that production of the show has begun.

"Young Justice" Season 3 guarantees new "twists, turns, and dangerous new threats" for the favorite heroes. But the most important thing is the opportunity for fans, and fans alike, to finally continue their adventures with the characters from the hit TV series.

Further details regarding "Young Justice" Season 3 will be announced soon. However, producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, who created the series, are both on board to return, per CBR. In fact, rumors over the past 10 months as regards "Young Justice" Season 3 were in large part fueled by its own creators Vietti and Weisman.

Meanwhile, there is no news, as of this writing, of whether "Young Justice" will reprise their slot on Cartoon Network or whether Netflix will pick up Season 3, according to Deadline. Also, Netflix's streaming service has successfully revived several hit series already, so it accommodating "Young Justice" is considered suitable since the network already carries two existing seasons of "Young Justice."

But sources noted that no decision has been made regarding the network partner yet and "Young Justice" still is in the marketplace.

Entertainment Weekly considered "Young Justice" as one of the "9 Best Animated TV Series Drawn from Comics," according to DC Comics. And the hit animated show has been praised by critics and fans for the show's impressive visuals and rich storytelling. "The affection that fans have had for 'Young Justice,' and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us," said Sam Register, Warner Bros. Animation President.

Having reached more than 25 million viewers, "Young Justice" aired for two seasons on Cartoon Network, from 2010 to 2013, before the network dropped the series. This action by the network sparked crowdfunding efforts by fans to bring back "Young Justice." The series eve went on to win an Emmy Award for Individual Achievement in Animation for Phillip Bousassa for the "Independence Day" episode of in 2011.
