‘Modern Family’ Season 8 Spoilers: Someone Sporty’s Going To Come Between Gloria And Jay’s Lives!

"Modern Family" Season 8 is teaming up to be star-studded. With news that "Castle" alum Nathan Fillion and "Kramer" star Kelsey Grammer are in the show's roster of guest stars, "Modern Family" is adding yet another one! Two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning's guest starring on the 12th episode of the eighth season of "Modern Family".

Retired NFL quarterback Peyton Manning officially starts his first acting gig in "Modern Family" season eight. In "Modern Family" Season 8, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) hires Coach Gary, Peyton Manning's character, to tutor baby Joe (Jeremy Maguire) in throwing and catching a ball. The situation escalates with Coach Gary helping around the house with chores and what not making Jay (Ed O'Neill) feel threatened and undermined in his own home.

Will Coach Gary replace Jay in Gloria and baby Joe's lives? Most likely not but the hi-jinks and misunderstanding the situation brings will make for a great "Modern Family" episode. Peyton Manning's Coach Gary will be on the twelfth episode of "Modern Family" Season 8 to air this coming January.

This is not the first foray of the retired NFL player Peyton Manning in television. Peyton Manning hosted "Saturday Night Live" and appeared in Neil Patrick Harris' "The Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris" and in an episode of "The Simpsons". Peyton Manning also hosted "The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe" that the five-time NFL MVP showed off his comedy chops.

"Modern Family" co-creator Steve Levitan met the former Denver Broncos player during "The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe" and offered Peyton Manning the role of Coach Gary for the show's eighth season. During an event, another co-creator of "Modern Family" Christopher Lloyd teased about Peyton Manning's possible guest starring role.

Are you looking forward to Peyton Manning's episode in "Modern Family" Season 8? "Modern Family" will be back for its eighth season on ABC, Wednesdays 9/8c.
