Canada’s Immigration Website & Many Others Crashed During US Poll: Reason Unknown [VIDEO]

Canada's official immigration website crashed during the US election vote causing it inaccessible to visitors. Colorado's voter registration database was also not accessible for half an hour on Tuesday afternoon.

Plus, North Carolina's State Board of Elections faced various technical problems. There was a cyber attack on a chat site named 4Chan on Tuesday morning.

According to a report from BBC, there were a number of cases of cyber issues during the US elections. It is suspected that this may be caused by US citizens after Donald Trump's victory. "The Government of Canada is committed to secure and reliable IT infrastructure to‎ ensure high-quality services to all users," a spokeswoman told the BBC.

Shared Services Canada are working for two days to work and resolve the issues so that the users find the website available as soon as possible. This issue was widely commented on social media.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon officials were not able to access Colorado's voter registration database. The spokeswoman for Colorado's secretary of state, Lynn Bartels, took it to Twitter: "Clerks can't process mail ballots that need to have the signature verified." They were forced to switch from electronic voting check-in system to a paper-based.

The Verge has reported that the cyber attack experienced by the members of 4Chan chat website involved flooding a target with internet traffic - which might have been responsible. Bloomberg also witnessed an internal issue in the messaging tool for an hour on Tuesday morning, which is used by financial traders and money managers to discuss market-morning events. The members had to temporarily use WhatsApp just ahead of the election results, the Financial Times reported.

The causes for several cyber issues in America are not known yet. But officials have asked to resolve it at the earliest. Stay tuned for more updates.
