WWE News, Updates & Rumors: John Cena Making A Return On Survivor Series?

After having failed to reacquire the WWE Championship at the WWE No Mercy pay per view event, John Cena has taken a hiatus from professional wrestling for possibly the rest of the year. However, rumors suggest that Cena will be making a quick return to the WWE at the forthcoming WWE Survivor Series PPV on Nov. 20, 2016.

Cena has not made an appearance on the WWE since October during the WWE No Mercy PPV. This is mainly because he is currently working on Season 2 of American Grit, a television series aired on the Fox Network. He is even speculated to star a role in a Marvel superhero movie.

His time away from the WWE gives way for new stars to emerge while Cena subsequently promotes the company, as per Inquisitr. He is expected to fully return to Smackdown and the WWE later in December or early next year in January.

However, the latest rumors around the WWE claim that Cena will be making a surprise comeback on the WWE Survivor Series PPV come Nov. 20. He is speculated to join one of the traditional elimination matches.

WWE Survivor Series PPV will showcase a 5-on-5 battle between superstars from Smackdown Live and Monday Night Raw in addition to the most awaited rematch between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. With all the exciting scheduled fights, Cena will not likely miss this year's installment of the WWE Survivor Series PPV.

According to a separate article by Inquisitr, if the rumored comeback does come to being, this will give the WWE Universe a glimpse of what Cena will be like once he fully returns to the WWE later this year or next year. The rivalry between Cena and AJ Styles is expected to carry on as soon as Cena returns. It is also possible that their feud will continue on the road to Wrestlemania 33, which will take place in Orlando, Florida.

In next year's Wrestlemania, Cena will allegedly face either the WWE World Champion to obtain the title for the 16th time in his professional wrestling career, or possibly a bout with The Undertaker for Taker's retirement match. Nevertheless, all of these speculations are unconfirmed, so we will have to wait until the WWE Survivor Series PPV to see if these are accurate.
