'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' Trailer & Plot: Brand New Film Images Released, Shots Feature Superman, Batman & Lex Luther [Photo]

Batman and Superman were supposed to save the day, but the two superheroes will bring the world into more turmoil, "putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before," as per Comingsoon.net. This is what has been featured in the recently released photos of the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor will grace the cover of Empire's September issue, which will be on sale on Thursday. The photos feature Henry Cavill as Batman or Bruce Wayne, Ben Affleck as Clark Kent or Superman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

As described by Empire, the photo of the Man of Steel, Superman, is set inside the burnt out ruins of Wayne Manor. Affleck is shot with his Dark Knight outfit and a medieval shape bat armor. Lex Luthor, on the other hand, puts on a "CEO-ish" look to depict his brain tricks and plans as an evil genius supervillain.

It can be remembered that during the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, film director Zack Synder announced the big news of Batman and Superman invading the screens together to culminate the biggest heroes of Justice League. Two years later, a trailer of the said movie was presented to the public during the 2015 Comic-Con in San Diego, reports Screen Rant.

Another Screen Rant report spills that in the movie, after Wayne Tower was destroyed because of General Zod and Superman's fight, Bruce Wayne blames the Man of Steel for the deaths of the innocent people including his co-workers, friends and loved ones, following the murder of his sidekick, Robin, as indicated in his deceased partner's vandalized suit. To this arises the conflict between the two. Batman mentions then, "He has the power to wipe out the human race, and I must destroy him."

Comingsoon.net also mentions that apart from the three main characters, the film will also include the talents of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince or Wonder Woman; Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane who are returning from Man of Steel; Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor; Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman. Tao Okamato, the former Wolverine, will also play as Mercy Graves, Luthor's sidekick.

The film is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio. It is expected to hit cinemas on March 25, 2016.
