Kate Middleton To Be Depicted In "King Charles III," Charlotte Riley To Play As The Duchess Of Cambridge

Charlotte Riley, star of "Peaky Blinders," has just been cast to play as Kate Middleton in the upcoming BBC drama "King Charles III." The 90-minute drama, set to air next year, is an adaptation of Mike Barlette's stage play, which won an Oliver Award and was nominated for a Tony.

Riley is definitely thrilled over her new role and thinks that playing the Duchess of Cambridge is both challenging and exciting. She, who shares certain resemblances with the actual Princess Kate, describes Middleton as an "interesting woman," as per BBC.

Chaos and violence then arise as people start a riot. Charles then battles identity crisis, affecting everyone that surrounds him.

Actor Oliver Chris will play as Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. Tim Pigott-Smith, who portrayed King Charles in the original stage play, will reprise the role for the TV adaptation.

According to The Sun, Riley's previous works include "Edge of Tomorrow," where she starred opposite Tom Cruise. She is currently seen in the BBC2 drama "Close to the Enemy," where she plays an American woman. Riley is married to actor Tom Hardy, who she met while filming the British film "Wuthering Heights."
