Disney’s 'Moana' Air Date, News, & Updates: Disney’s New Princess Is A Modern, Strong Independent Woman; Dwayne Johnson Will Sing?

Perhaps, everyone is used to having Disney princesses who wore gowns, tiaras, and stilettos. Maybe, you are used of having princesses being rescued by their knight and shining armor. This year, Disney will release a unique kind of princess that introduces a modern, strong and independent woman, "Moana."

Disney's Moana is a Polynesian Princess, the daughter of a Pacific Islands Chief lain. Despite her family's reputation and rank in their society, Moana did not see herself as a princess.

Moana is a warrior woman who is willing to help her family and is ready to face the circumstances the world will give. Moana proved that she doesn't need a man to rescue her and to solve her problems.

In Disney's "Moana," the new princess is accompanied by her friend Demigod named Maui all through her voyage to save her family. This time, Disney focuses on the journey and adventure in the ocean.

Disney kids will encounter different sea creatures that will be part of Moana's journey. Friendship and family are the most important things in every girl's life and that's the role the new princess of Disney's "Moana" will portray.

Gamespot reported that even if Disney's "Moana" has not been released yet, a number of critics reviewed the movie in a positive way. One of the critics admits that Disney's "Moana" will belong to one of the remarkable movies Disney ever had produced. It expanded the horizon of a modern woman as a princess nowadays.

According to Variety, Moana is voiced by Auli'i Cravalho, a Hawaiian actress. Meanwhile, Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson will sing for the Demigod Maui.

Directors for Disney's "Moana" will be John Musker and Ron Clements. Disney's "Moana" has a storyline that reveals the quest of the two main characters Moana and Maui. The quest of the two deepens as the journey goes by and it will surely make the movie as one of the triumphant Disney movies this year.

Disney kids will not wait that long because Disney's "Moana" will be released in theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
