OnePlus 3 Android Nougat Beta Arriving This Month; OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3 Line To Receive Latest Android OS Before 2017

OnePlus 3 will be receiving its much-anticipated Android Nougat community build update this month, just in time before the holiday crunch. But that's not where the good news ends--the China-based mobile giant also announced that the rest of the OnePlus 3s line will receive the first sweet taste of Nougat 7.0, as well as older models like OnePlus 2.

Brian Yoon, OnePlus' Head of Software, confirmed the good tidings to Engadget just a few days after other mobile tech companies like LG, Samsung, and others announced that Android Nougat will finally be available on users' phones. OnePlus 3 will initially get a beta testing before being rolled out with the actual Android Nougat release.

Devices older than OnePlus 2, like OnePlus X and OnePlus One, will not be receiving the latest Android system, though. It's because the devices' chipsets cannot support graphic requirements of Nougat, per GSM Arena.

The exact release date of Android's latest operating system is not yet confirmed for both OnePlus 3 and other mentioned lines. However, it's sure that both the entire OnePlus 3 line and older device models will be receiving Android Nougat before 2017 ends.

Aside from the uplifting Android Nougat availability on OnePlus phones, the new update will reportedly be coming with a better and bug-free software. While the mobile company has been a true success story in the market, some of its devices--including OnePlus 3--were not free from bugs, which is why they had to start anew and finally came up to a decision of merging HydrogenOS and OxygenOS to improve updates.

In other news, OnePlus 3 will be unveiling yet another phone next week. The latest successor of OnePlus 3 will be dubbed as OnePlus 3T, and it is expected to already be equipped with Android Nougat.
