'The Last Of Us 2' Release Date Confirmed Delay Due To PS4 Pro Incompatibility; 2020 Launch Probable?

Will it be hello Ellie and Joel in "The Last of Us 2?" As fans continue to wait for Naughty Dog's official confirmation of the sequel, rumors and theories about the highly anticipated title continue to spread online.

One of the most talked about possibility is the lead characters' return in "The Last of Us 2." While some are reportedly ready to move on with new protagonists and a new storyline, some have already expressed their interest in seeing what happened to Ellie and Joel after the events of the first game.

No "The Last of Us 2" release date has been confirmed as of writing. However, rumors have started to suggest that Naughty Dog has begun initial work on the project after voice actor Nolan North that developers are contemplating on the sequel. As Game N Guide noted, "The Last of Us 2" could arrive in the future, but fans should expect that the game could take 4-5 years to complete.

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog has also released "The Last of Us" remastered for the new PS4 Pro console. This was seen as a temporary diversion for fans who have been eager to know more about "The Last of Us 2." However, new reports suggest that not everything is going smoothly for the remastered version of the original title.

Eurogamer reported that the game runs better on the PS4 than on the Pro. As the outlet claimed, trying to run 60FPS consistently at 1800p proves to be problematic for "The Last of Us" remastered on the PS4 Pro.

While nothing has been set on stone, rumors are claiming that fans will eventually get some major updates about "The Last of Us 2" after work on "Uncharted 4" is done. Some sources are hopeful that this would come around 2018.
