Google Play Music Gets Playlist Overhaul, App Feature Recommends Music Based On Your Time & Location

Google Play Music service is dead serious in superseding the music streaming giants Spotify and Apple Music. Eager to capture the interests of the majority, Google Play Music gets playlist overhaul by creating a feature that recommends music based on your location.

Techcrunch had recently reported that Google Play Music made its announcement about its latest version. The streaming service is putting an effort to capture its audience's unique tastes and interests. In terms of recommending tunes, they came up with a feature that not only predicts songs that match your mood but also suggests based on the atmosphere of where you are? No streaming service has done that yet, which favors Google Play Music.

Google Play Music is in high hopes to outweigh Spotify's Daily Mix feature. Spotify is considered the king of on-demand streaming music because they have already mastered organizing the tracks you have listened to on the platform and suggests tunes about as comprehensive as it gets. Google's machine learning has an in-depth ability to know exactly what, when, and where you are doing is on point with the revamped Google Play Music.

How does Google do it? The majority of mobile devices have GPS tracking, whether built into the mobile device or an app provided by Google. Google Play Music will detect if you are in your car, at home or somewhere in the city, daytime or night and will fill a playlist of suggested songs that is suitable.

But, of course, the broader mission of Google Play Music will not apply automatically, it will also take its time to learn what music you like to hear often, the activities you do on a daily basis and the places you are often listening to music.

According to Yahoo News, Google has not yet clarified regarding any possible change in the subscription fee. More likely, it will remain at $9.99 a month like most streaming services. Google also is still rolling out further updates on iPhone and other Android devices.

Meanwhile, Computer Service Review reported that Amazon also announced their own paid music streaming service. Let's see if they also have something unique to compare with other music streaming services.
