‘Pokemon GO’ Update, Latest News & Tricks: Secret Pokemon Thanksgiving Event A Sign Of Something Big? Here’s How To Create PokeStops!

"Pokemon GO" from Niantic and The Pokemon Company has something cooking for Thanksgiving, which holds major significance for Pokemon trainers around the world. Meanwhile, "Pokemon GO" players have a way of creating PokeStops with the help of the Niantic Labs game "Ingress."

"Pokemon GO" players can now bypass limitation set by Niantic on manual requests for PokeStops. Tech Mic cites a method recommended on Reddit by user TheFarix via The Silph Road fan community. According to TheFarix, "Pokemon GO" players can create an account with "Ingress" and look for specific "portals" in the game.

"Pokemon GO" PokeStops are based on "Ingress" portals as Pokemon trainers would notice. PokeStops are "Ingress" portals that display an image of their real world locations. However, inside "Ingress" are portals, which do not display any real world image.

"Pokemon GO" players can hunt up these imageless "Ingress" portals and submit a corresponding photo to Niantic via Ingress. If the submitted images are accepted, chances are Niantic will convert these "Ingress" portals into PokeStops.

This trick should help "Pokemon GO" players prepare for big things that Niantic Labs has in store. As Slash Gear proposes, Niantic has big plans for Thanksgiving which should bear similarities to the "Pokemon GO" event on Halloween.

More importantly as Slash Gear points out, a "Pokemon GO" Thanksgiving event confirms that Niantic Labs will continue with more event releases. Christmas and New Year should see similar "Pokemon GO" event releases, which Pokemon trainers can enjoy.

Parent Herald cites that New Year in particular will bring a significant "Pokemon GO" release from Niantic Labs. These may include quite a few of the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 features detected by the Pokemon fan community in the game's latest APK.

Currently Niantic Labs has ongoing special Lapras spawning on the coastlines of Japan, particularly the Prefectures affected by the Tsunami disaster in 2011. This pre-Thanksgiving "Pokemon GO" event is scheduled to run in Japan until Nov 23.
