Nintendo's 'Super Mario Run' For iPhone Release Date & Pricing Revealed [DETAILS HERE]

During Apple's Press event, back in September for the iPhone 7, fans received a big surprise with the appearance of Nintendo's "Super Mario". The creator of Nintendo's iconic character Shigeru Miyamoto took to the stage to announce "Super Mario Run".

Last Tuesday, Nintendo has announced that "Super Mario Run" will be released in time for the holiday season on December 15 for the iPhone. Nintendo's partnership with Apple will provide a huge boost to Nintendo which is currently enjoying a lot of attention from the release of "Pokemon Go" earlier this year and the more recent "Nintendo Classic Mini" device which is currently running out of stocks.

"Super Mario Run" will be a side-scrolling game wherein Mario runs through a set of obstacles to reach the flag at the end of a level. The game will look and feel like the "Super Mario" games but the gameplay will be simplified to make use of the iPhone's touch mechanics.

Miyamoto has stated that "Super Mario Run" can be played with a single hand. "Super Mario Run" will be controlled primarily by tapping, each tap will make Mario dodge an obstacle in his path.

"Super Mario Run" is being developed by the team that brought us the original "Super Mario". "Super Mario Run" will be the very first Mario game developed specifically for mobiles.

Although Miyamoto has expressed Nintendo's intention to develop the game for other mobile platforms "Super Mario Run" will be released first to Apple's iOS. According to Fortune, "Super Mario Run" will be priced at $9.99 during launch.

It may seem like a high price to pay for iPhone users who have been besieged with $.99 offerings on the app store, but "Super Mario Run" has no in-app purchases. The $9.99 price tag includes all the content "Super Mario Run" has to offer which would also include all possible future updates.
