"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 has just started but the twists and turns are already putting fans of the show at the edge of their seats. Last episode's shocker proved that anything can happen in West Covina, and creators of the series recently claimed that there's more where that came from.
As fans already know, Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) had to say goodbye to Greg Serrano (Santino Fontana) in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 episode 4. While Greg did admit his feelings for Rebecca, it was still a bittersweet affair since the former had to leave to pursue his dreams.
While his departure in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 marks the end of the Greg-Rebecca-Josh (Vincent Rodriguez II) love triangle, series co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna did claim that it was really their intention to end the romance since Greg's departure was really part of the story.
In an interview, Brosh McKenna claimed that Greg's sudden exit "makes sense" in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2. The series co-creator further explained that the series is all about Rebecca finding happiness and they thought that her character needs to evolve more, E! Online reported.
As for Fontana, the actor shared that he already knew what was in store for his character during "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2. He told Vulture that he really didn't expect that the show will be renewed for another season, so he already accepted offers he couldn't get out of. Although sudden, the actor's departure was just timely and fit perfectly well with the second season's storyline.
Could there be a new love interest for Rebecca in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2? Fans should just watch out for more surprises coming their way in the succeeding episodes.
