‘Counting On’ Cancellation: Joy-Anna’s Courtship Announcement To Keep Duggar Family Show Running?

The Duggar family has a new courtship announcement. Joy-Anna Duggar introduces her now boyfriend Austin Forsyth just after her sister Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo. Is this another strategy to ensure "19 Kids and Counting" spin-off reality TV series don't get canceled?

In a video from TLC, Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, introduced Austin as her friend for 15 years. "I just asked her to enter a courtship with me," Austin told cameras. "And I said yes!" Joy-Anna added, saying that they've known each other for a long time.

The couple went on to share about the special spot Austin chose to ask Joy to enter in courtship with him. "It's a place that I've come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord. I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her," he said. Joy share she was surprised and was not expecting anything like this, but she said she's "so happy."

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were happy for their daughter and posted on their website that they are proud of them. The Duggar family has been through a lot, particularly when their eldest Josh Duggar was involved in child molestation and cheating scandal that led to "19 Kids and Counting's" cancellation last year.

The family were able to return to the reality TV through "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," which featured the next generation of Duggars. Last season's highlight became Jinger's courtship announcement with former soccer player Jeremy Vuolo, which escalated rather very quickly to engagement. Shortly after, Jinger and Jeremy got married.

Amid criticisms and calls for sponsors to boycott the family, it looks like the Duggars don't run out of something to show on television. "Counting On" is returning for another season in 2017, which will feature Jinger and Jeremy's nuptials, and now Joy and Austin's courtship.
