"Pokemon Go" developer Niantic will be holding a special pre-Thanksgiving event this weekend to draw players back into the game, i4u News reported. The event is said to run until Nov. 23, the day before Thanksgiving. "Pokemon Go" developer, however, will only release the event in three different areas of Japan, reportedly.

"Pokemon Go" players in the United States, on the other hand, still have hopes to get their hands on a new game event. Speculations surfaced that Niantic is gearing up for a Thanksgiving event similar to its Halloween update. In a report from Slashgear, a new event will be held on Nov. 24 in the U.S. which increase spawns of bird-based "Pokemon Go" creatures.

The report listed Spearow, Fearow, Psyduck and Golduck as some of the "Pokemon Go" creatures that will get a boost on Thanksgiving day. Slowpoke, Slowbro, Ponyta and Rapidash also made the list. However, these are just speculations as Niantic has not officially announced whether it will be hosting a special Thanksgiving event.

Additionally, the special "Pokemon Go" event for Thanksgiving is also speculated to carry more XP, bonuses and rewards for spinning PokeStops. There are also rumors that Stardust will be active. The rate of collecting Pokemon candies is also suggested to be increased.

"Pokemon Go" Thanksgiving special event is said to be exclusive in the U.S. as the event is only celebrated in the country.
