'iPad Pro' Release Date & Price: Apple Designing Stylus With Haptic Feedback, Built-In Camera [Rumors]

Technology savvies, who are waiting for Apple's biggest tablet will be rejoicing at this news. International Business Times reports that the iPad Pro is getting ready for its release. In fact, Apple is "secretly filing patent-after-patent" for the new features, which many believe will be introduced on their most anticipated tablet.

According to Value Walk, iPad is the most successful and popular tablet in the world, and while others think that it has already reached its peak, Apple is ready to prove once more that they are good with innovation with their release of another high-spec tablet known as the "iPad Pro."

The company's recent patent application interestingly includes a stylus, which will surely not gain approval of Apple's late CEO and founder, Steve Jobs. Jobs reportedly dislikes the idea of adding a stylus to the iPad. However, the report suggests that Apple may be eyeing the popularity gained by the S Pen stylus, which has been made famous by Samsung after introducing their Galaxy Note series.

Of course, Apple's patented stylus is no ordinary. The company added additional features to make their version stand out from what is currently used in the market. According to Value Walk, Apple's stylus has a built-in camera, which is designed to detect the surface over which it is passed and replicate the same texture for its users. This technology will provide its users the physical look and feel of different textures.

Value Walk further explains that "the so-called haptic feedback works via the modulation of friction forces between the fingers of a user of the device and the source of the feedback." The incredible physical effect produced by the stylus is achieved with several modifications in voltage levels.

Moreover, the said technology hopes to provide assistance to visually impaired users by letting them feel the image on-screen with the use of the stylus, just as how Braille works.

The company has been investigating haptic technology since 2011, and though it is not yet confirmed if customers will see it when Apple launches their next device, the report says that it will be "ideal" to see it with the iPad Pro.

TechRadar reported that the iPad Pro will possibly be released by mid-November, and Apple will be testing its popularity before making a full launch. They will ship limited volume of iPad Pro to determine its popularity in the market.

As for the price, there is no word yet as to how much it will cost, but given that it will come with a wider display, The Inquirer speculates that it will be priced higher than iPad Air 2, which retails at £399.
