Ever since the news that "The Vampire Diaries" will end with its eighth season, "TVD" fans are left wondering if Nina Dobrev will be reprising her role as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries". The executive producer of "The Vampire Diaries" Julie Plec really wants Nina Dobrev to comeback as Elena in "TVD" season 8. But it seems there's no word yet if Nina will really reprise her role as Elena.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, "The Vampire Diaries" creator and executive producer Julie Plec said that Nina Dobrev wants to return for "TVD" season 8, she wants Nina back but it all comes to logistics. Julie Plec is really hopeful that everything will work out and Nina Dobrev can return to Mystic Falls as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

But it has been a few months from that interview Julie Plec has done and up til now, no word yet if Nina Dobrev is really returning in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. A gossip site has even called out Nina Dobrev for using logistics as an excuse to not return to "TVD". The gossip site heavily criticizes Nina Dobrev for not carving out time on her "busy schedule" to film a few scenes for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

It even reports that fans would be so disappointed with Nina Dobrev's no show in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 that the fans would decide to boycott Nina Dobrev's upcoming movie, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage".

If worse comes to worst, executive producer of "The Vampire Diaries" Julie Plec has said she'd already prepared an alternative but sub-par ending to "TVD" if Nina Dobrev would not return as Elena in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. But with "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 getting closer and closer to its last few episodes, it seems Nina Dobrev is really done with "TVD" and won't be returning as Elena in season 8.
