Star Wars Drones Update and Release Dates: Official Drones Open for Pre-Orders Starting November 22 According to Propel

Star Wars Drones are now available for order and delivery. Propel is accepting pre-orders for the Star Wars drones starting November 22 at $230 each. Previously, the Propel website was accepting reservations. This time, the inventory has arrived and they are ready to sell and deliver the merchandise.

According to Wired, Propel is accepting orders for these working and flying Star Wars vehicles. These will start shipping within a week or two. Buyers can choose between different models of Propel's Official Star Wars drones, including X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Speeder Bike, and the Millennium Falcon.

The Millennium Falcon quadcopter can fly at up to 50mph, while the rest of the Star Wars drone models can go as fast as 40mph. This is just as fast as most other quadcopters. In addition, these are designed to be battle drones. The Star Wars drones have built-in laser tag equipment and you can use these in battles between two groups of 12. The drones come with 4 lasers each and their own hit counters.

"Star Wars" fans would also like to buy these Star Wars drones as they are extremely collectible. According to the Propel Star Wars drone website, the battle drones are "extremely detailed, hand painted to model quality finish, certified, numbered and packed in a collectible display box." The collector boxes are also hand-crafted.

Hobbyists have made drones based on "Star Wars" vehicles for some time now. There are several videos of flying Millennium Falcons as well as Speeder Bikes, Tie Fighters, and large Star Destroyers. These were made by hobbyists using either off-the-shelf drones, or they created the drones themselves.

The Propel Star Wars battle drones are released just in time with Thanksgiving, the Holiday season, and the opening of "Star Wars Rogue One." Wired reports that Propel started accepting reservations back in July and showed off the models during the Star Wars drone Celebration in London.
