‘Duck Dynasty’ Show Gets Cancelled: Final Episode Will Air on April 12, 2017; Spinoff Starring Si Robertson in the Works?

After 11 seasons, the "Duck Dynasty" show gets canceled. The reality show about the Robertson family, which creates a duck call called the "Duck Commander," was canceled by A&E network. In 2014, it was the most widely watched nonfiction cable TV show in history. Since then, it has seen falling ratings which has prompted the cancellation.

According to USAToday, A&E released a statement that said, "After five years, 130 episodes and one of the biggest hits in the history of cable, the Robertson family and A&E jointly decided that Duck Dynasty, the series, will come to an end after this season."

There will be episodes of "Duck Dynasty" show up to January 18, when it goes on a break. The show resumes on March 1, with another 7 episodes including the "Duck Dynasty" finale on April 12.

The "Duck Dynasty's" Robertson Family is composed of Willie, Phil, Jase, Si, Kay, Korie, and Jep Robertson. The narration is done by Willie Robertson. The "Duck Dynasty" reality show is all about the family as they go about their own business managing the duck call company, creating new products, and duck hunting in general.

The "Duck Dynasty" show has become a cultural icon. According to reports, during the fourth season premiere, it had more than 11.8 million viewers watching. The viewership has fallen to 1.3 million viewers for the July 6, 2016, premiere. The only other time that the ratings were this low was during the series premiere on March 21, 2012, with 1.81 million viewers.

FoxNew reports that several members of the Robertson family have been busy with their own business dealings. The "Duck Dynasty" cast have had a few books written and published. There is already a "Duck Dynasty" spin-off slated which will be led by Si Robertson.
