Kate Middleton News: Duchess 'Furious' At The Queen For Snubbing Prince George's Birthday? Yes [Rumors]

Prince George's second birthday last July 22, which was privately celebrated among close friends and family, was apparently not without its share of drama and intrigue, rumors suggest.

Noticeably absent from the celebration, aside from Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, was the Queen, and this has caused more tension and resentment between the royals.

The duchess, Kate Middleton, is reportedly "furious" that Queen Elizabeth didn't come to the birthday party of her first-born and the third in line to the throne, according to Celebrity Laundry.

According to the report, the Queen had no reason to not attend the party. Yet, her husband, Prince Philip, was able to go to the party regardless of the two-hour drive from London to Anmer Hall, where Kate, Prince William and the royal kids are residing.

An insider from Life & Style revealed, "This would have been the perfect opportunity for the Queen to show her support for Kate. There are clearly some tensions. The Middletons thought that the message they were getting from the Queen was definitely a disapproving one," as per the Celebrity Laundry report.

Rumors of the rift between Queen Elizabeth and Kate has been going on for years, and it is said that her Royal Highness doesn't really like her grandson's wife and family simply because they are "commoners."

The Queen also doesn't like that Kate doesn't do much of her duties as a royal. "Kate is getting a bit of a reputation for ducking out of royal duties," said a Life & Style source. "That's where her nicknames, 'Duchess of Do-Little' and 'Lazy Katie,' come from. If you can't find time to pay tribute to some old men who saved your country, what message does that convey?"

Meanwhile, even with all these rumors surrounding the Kate and the royals, the duchess has recently accomplished something she can be proud of. She received her certification as an advanced scuba diver, according to the Telegraph, which allows her to go diving 30 meters deep in open waters. This means that she can finally accompany her husband on his diving escapades. The prince, just like his father and grandfather, now heads the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC).

"Diving is something the duchess very much enjoys, and the Duke of Cambridge, who is of course president of the BSAC, has said in the past that he is hopeful his children will become interested in the sport," says a spokesperson for Kate Middleton to news outlets.
