Texas Woman Who Faked Her Pregnancy Suspect In The Death Of A Mother And Abduction Of A Baby

A Texas woman reportedly faked her own pregnancy that when the time came she was expected to have her baby, she allegedly went to extreme measures in order to have an infant. The woman was alleged of killing a mother who just gave birth then subsequently abducting the newborn baby.

The Texas woman was identified as 34-year-old Yesenia Sesmas. The mother killed was identified as Laura Abarca-Nogueda, 27 years old. The baby, who was only a few days old during the alleged abduction was identified as Sophia Gonzalez.

Sesmans allegedly killed Abarca-Nogueda then fled the scene with Gonzalez from Kansas to Texas. Gonzalez, now 10 days old, and was found unharmed in Dallas on Saturday morning at the residence of Sesmas, Huffington Post reported. The baby was first taken to an area hospital and was reunited with her family hours after.

The father of Gonzalez, who's also Abarca-Nogueda's boyfriend, discovered the dead body of his girlfriend on Thursday afternoon last week after he arrived from work. He then called the police to report his missing baby. Accordingly, Sesmas and Abarca-Nogueda have known each other for a few years but police won't say what their relationship was, CBS News reported.

Sesmas is originally from Texas but has been going to Wichita then back to Texas in the past months. Wichita Police homicide detective Lieutenant Todd Ojile said in a statement that an anonymous tipster called police leading to the home of Sesmas in Dallas.

It remains unclear why Sesmas claimed that she was pregnant when in fact that she was not. The case remains under investigation.

Three other people were living at the home where Sesmas was caught and where the baby was found. Those people are Sesmas' boyfriend, her son and a niece. All of them were questioned but have since been released.

Sesmas is now booked at a Dallas jail and is on a felony warrant for kidnapping and first-degree murder. She is awaiting extradition to Kansas.
