‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Episode 5 Recap: Jesus Saves Maggie, Will Carl Kill Negan?

Fans of "The Walking Dead" were in for a treat on TWD Season 7 Episode 5 aired last Sunday, Nov. 20. First off, they finally were taken to see the people of Alexandria and the Hilltop. And then, it is revealed that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is alive. And yet, fans still couldn't get over their obsession with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 Episode 5 opens with Maggie waking up and realizing that she and her baby are still alive. This is an important revelation because fans may recall that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) already told Negan before that Maggie is dead.

Will there be a Rick and Negan war brewing soon? With Maggie alive, Glenn's (Steven Yeun) untimely death may be justified after all, The Verge surmises.

Maggie is staying in the Hilltop, and that’s not the only thing happening there. Simon and the Saviors will also try their way into the denial zone in “The Walking Dead.”

Actually, they staged their arrival by letting the zombies attack the Hilltop. Is this a right move for the antagonists of TWD? Maggie and Sasha could really be in grave danger.

They are almost caught hiding in a closet full of whiskey. Luckily, Jesus (Tom Payne) moved them to another closet to save them from becoming like Glenn in TWD Season 7's first episode entitled "Service."

Unfortunately, towards the end, Gregory (Xander Berkeley) is asked to kneel for Simon (Steven Ogg). And so Gregory did, but Maggie is different. She's triggered seeing that this man’s boss killed her husband, as recapped by The Guardian.

Eventually, viewers are left with Jesus sneaking inside one of the trucks of the Saviours to find where Negan is. And lo and behold, he sees Carl. Will the two finish their mission? The cliffhanger will be answered next week.

“The Walking Dead” Season 7 Episode 6 will air next Sunday, Nov. 27, on AMC.
